Dave’s easy garden salad is fast and easy to prepare. It literally can be thrown together in minutes. The difficulty is not making it but rather getting the perfect combination of vegetables. Individual tastes differ as much as the possible ingredients. In this recipe, we use fairly common ingredients. When these are combined, they create a garden salad that will have all your dinner guests smiling. One key feature that I personally enjoy is the combination of the two types of lettuce. My favorite combination is iceburg lettuce with red leaf lettuce. If you can’t find red leaf lettuce, you can use just about any type of loose leaf lettuce such as oak leaf or even romaine will do in a pinch. To be even more adventurous, you can try combine more than 2 types of lettuce.
- Tear or shred the lettuce into salad sized pieces. Wash and dry it well.
- Add all of the ingredients, with the exception of the quail eggs, and mix well.
- Place the eggs over the top and serve with your choice of dressing. If you wish to make you own dressing, click on the link for our homemade dressing.
